We’re delighted to announce the 2024 re-opening of our garden, along with our indoor space THE POTTING SHED with a limited edition, pop-up season of delicious art-inspired food, alongside some of our favourite pizzas.

Our limited edition season is delivered by Meg Greenacre, the Chef behind our smash-hit show, GASTRONOMIC.

We’ll be open THURSDAYS, FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS for 12 weekends only during May, June and July 2024.

WHAT?
BOTANICAL GARDEN BAR & KITCHEN was set up in 2020 and is managed by an independent theatre company, and our aim is to welcome you and your group as guests into our home, in a relaxed, easy-going atmosphere. THE POTTING SHED, new in 2024, is an indoor addition to our outdoor offer.

We source all of our produce locally.

BOTANICAL GARDEN BAR & KITCHEN is at curious directive’s making space, 49 Elm Hill (the entrance is opposite the Maids Head Hotel on Wensum Street, NR3 1HG) - look for the beautiful garden - you can't miss us!

10 FAQs

1. I have accessibility requirements, how do I let you know about these prior to arrival?
   Please contact us and let us know so we can be sure to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.

2. It’s going to rain, what do I do?
   We have indoor and outdoor seating. Some (not all) tables outside are equipped with waterproof parasols and gazebos which are put up if we think it’s going to rain.

3. Are children allowed?
   Yes. Children must be at the same table as adults, accompanied. And other normal rules apply.

4. We have a pram, will that be ok?
   Yes, we have access to the garden via a shingle walkway up onto the lawn.

5. Are dogs allowed?
   Yes. But only outside. Please keep your dog on a lead and at your table. As far as we’re aware there are no poisonous plants in our Botanical Garden.

6. I need to cancel, can I do that?
   Please note that last minute cancellations or 'no shows' are highly disruptive to our not-for-profit business model. Please set a good example and be kind with your decision making. If you need to cancel, please do let us know at least 24 hours in advance to allow us to try to fill your space. To cancel, please do so on OpenTable, but we’d appreicate an email to info@curiousdirective.com or leave a voicemail on 01603 614 425 explaining what’s happened.

8. Are there vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options?
   We have vegetarian and vegan options.

9. How long are you open?
   We’re open Thursday, Friday & Saturday 17:30pm-22:45pm. Final seating for food is 20:30
